Glass Balustrades

Glass balustrades, made to measure.

Fast-growing in popularity, glass balustrades offer a clean twist on traditional hand railings. With strong glass and stainless steel framing, this dynamic addition provides safety with no compromise to the interior aesthetic.

Supply & fit

Bespoke glass balustrades, North East.

Every balustrade is surveyed, specified and fitted by Chris himself, for homes and commercial properties across County Durham, Tyneside, Wearside and the wider North East. Indoors or out, the aim is the same: a barrier that keeps everyone safe while letting the space, the light and the view come through.

What we fit

Systems, glass and finishes.

  • 01

    Frameless track systems

Glass panels held in a continuous base track for a clean, uninterrupted line. We fit brushed aluminium track with clear or grey glass, and laminated glass for gardens and terraces.

  • 02

    Stand-off fixings

Laminated glass side-fixed to the edge of a stair, landing or floor with stainless steel stand-offs, as fitted in a recent barn conversion.

  • 03

    Post and glass

Stainless steel posts with clamped glass panels, a robust choice for raised patios, garden terraces and decking.

  • 04

    Handrails and capping

Stainless steel, push-on and black powder-coated handrails, or a stainless steel capping rail, chosen to suit the property.

Questions

Glass Balustrades, answered.

How much does a glass balustrade cost?

Every balustrade is made to measure, so the price depends on the length, the glass, the fixing method and the handrail. Chris visits your property, measures up and gives you a free, no-obligation quote.

Do glass balustrades need a handrail?

It depends on the system and the glass. Some designs use laminated glass so the barrier stays in place if a pane is damaged, while others use a continuous handrail or capping rail. Chris will recommend the right specification for your space at the site visit.

Can glass balustrades be used outside?

Yes. Many of our projects are in gardens, on raised patios and on roof terraces, using stainless steel and aluminium fittings chosen for outdoor use.

Can you replace an old wooden bannister with glass?

Yes. On one recent staircase we replaced a dated wooden bannister with a glass balustrade running along the hallway and the back of the stair, finished with a stainless steel handrail.
